The Check and Tune is designed to provide a comprehensive inspection and basic maintenance to keep your bicycle in optimal condition. This is a basic safety check and tune to keep your bike running in between services
Note: Your bike may need more work/parts. If so we will discuss it with you.
Should you choose to not follow our recommendations we will carry out the agreed work but may not offer a warranty on the specific element in question.
This is designed to keep your bike in good working condition for daily commuting. This includes all aspects of a check and tune but includes the labour charge to replace any necessary parts. We’ll knock the scum off the top but we won’t spend unnecessary time deep cleaning parts.
This cost is based upon a hybrid bike, so there may be some variation if bars need wrapping or brakes need bleeding
This one is is good for commuters or where your drivetrain has a hard life. It's everything in a Check and Tune and the drivetrain is removed cleaned and refitted.
It does not include time to fit any new parts except any drivetrain components.
This one's simple. We strip the bike to the frame, clean everything, and refit or replace parts as necessary. Cost includes any cables needed to complete the service and bar tape if necessary.
It's a good idea especially on expensive bikes, or where perfect function is needed.
Long Ashton workshop has clear leanings towards the sports and electric ranges. If you have electronic gears, mid to high end e-bikes, road or mountain bikes have a chat with Timo or Matt.
We are happy to just do targeted repairs. If you know your bike and just want one thing sorted point at it, say "fix" and we will happily ignore the rest. We can offer advice about other elements of your bike but you are free to ignore it. We might give an advisory that the bike is not to be ridden, but that's up to you if you want to do the rest yourself.

If you have a TT bike, an Ebike, a horrible bike, hub brakes, a hedge bike etc these will either take longer to work on or the result will be rubbish. There will be extra cost in these cases.
Also be aware that problems may arise during the work itself. If this is the case we will talk to you about it, but to be frank, there's not much choice in a lot of these cases, you'll either need to agree the extra cost or have a poor outcome.
